After having completed 8 years of training with don Oscar Miro Quesada, a Curandero Shaman and adept in the Kamasqa tradition of Northern Peru, we are pleased to announce that shamanic practices are being integrated into our work at the Center for Holistic Therapy.
Since its first unveiling in North America in 1986, the practice of Pachakuti Mesa cross-cultural shamanism has continued to organically refine itself the world over as a deeply meaningful path of healing service. Inspired by the living soul sustaining the various traditions of Peruvian Curanderismo since time immemorial, the Pachakuti Mesa ethnospiritual and ethnopsychological tradition dedicated to compassionate personal and planetary transformation.
Focused on empowering visionary cultural evolution, it embraces life’s diversity, restores sacred relationship with the soul and with the earth (PachaMama) and integrates world-wide indigenous wisdom. Pachakuti Mesa shamanism provides all who explore it with the possibility of re-membering who they truly are, as luminous strands within the great web of life. In don Oscar’s own words, “In order to come to your senses, you must lose your mind.”
Shamanic Energy Healing: This healing service involves the use of chanting of sacred sounds and the delivery of different frequencies of energy to harmonize and charge the physical and energetic body of the client.
Shamanic Journeying and Soul Retrieval: In Shamanic Healing, the universe is broken into three worlds, the underworld (the ukhu pacha), the middle world (the kay pacha), and the upper world (the hanaq pacha). We embark on a journey into any of these three worlds to gain access to our tutelary allies and power animals, sacred guidance, insight and wisdom. This process of re-remembering is often related to and part of a Soul Retrieval.
Hucha Clearing: Hucha is the term used for energetic and emotional densities that collect within our physical, etheric and luminous bodies. Hucha can be the source of dis-ease and emotional distress. The practice of clearing Hucha is a shamanic service offered which begins at the New Moon and ends with the Full Moon.
Limpia Ceremony: We gather in a group ceremony to receive individual Limpias. Limpias are ritual energy cleansing and clearings which involve the use of flower waters, rattles, feathers, vara curanderas (healing staffs), or blades (for cutting cords and extractions). Messages from the shamanic lineage holders, ancestors, the shining ones, or star guides are often given during the Limpias to assist in your spiritual and psychological evolution, and in the expansion of your consciousness.
Earth Honoring Ceremony: In order to enter into and sustain a sacred, healing relationship with the earth, we will be sponsoring various Earth Honoring Ceremonies at different times throughout the year, typically the Equinoxes. These activities include the Pachamama Renewal Process, the creation of the Despacho, and its offering at either a Fire or Water Ceremony.
