Manual Lymph Drainage

104Manual Lymph Drainage is a non-invasive, light touch, hands-on treatment of acute and chronic pain and physical dysfunction. Manual Lymph Drainage is used to increase circulation of the lymph fluid throughout the body in order to alleviate swelling, pain, and soft tissue congestion resulting from infection, injury, surgery, chronically tight muscles, or even the swelling associated with pregnancy.

Lymph Drainage assists the body in detoxification, increasing the body s ability to move stored toxins into the elimination systems and thereby excreted. The chemicals stored in the body tissues that can be eliminated are chemotherapy drugs, anesthesia drugs, toxins and metals from dental and medical surgeries and immunizations, and toxins from our food and water, to name just a few.

How is Manual Lymph Drainage Performed?

Manual Lymph Drainage is performed hands-on-skin, on a patient lying comfortably on a treatment table. Treatment involves gentle rhythmic movement on the skin by the therapists hands. Manual Lymph Drainage is deeply relaxing and many patients fall asleep during the hour-long session. Many patients are pain free and notice a significant decrease in swelling and congestion after the first treatment. The number of sessions needed is dependent on the nature of the problem, and frequently this treatment is integrated into other manual therapies in our practice.
